NBA Playoffs: Coldiron’s 5-Star Postseason Success Formula
5. Luck
The final factor in determining the NBA Champion will be luck. It almost sickens me to have to include this, but as much as some might not like to hear this, luck will play a major factor in determining the 2016 NBA Champion.
Luck can come in many forms, including injury luck (see Factor 3).

The 2006 Suns may have been the best team that year, but Steve Nash‘s bloody nose that couldn’t be stopped forced him out of the end of the crucial game 6 of the Western Conference Finals that they eventually lost to the Spurs.
In 2005 the Suns caught bad luck when Amare Stoudamire and two other starters took two steps off the bench after Robert Horry clothes-lined Steve Nash out of bounds and got suspended for the next game, which ended the Suns season.
And of course, last years’ Champion Warriors caught some luck with injuries to their opponents (see Factor 3).
The point is, luck will play a major factor in these playoffs.
