In this week’s edition of NBA Power Rankings, we look at the second round of the playoffs and discuss how impressive the Warriors look without Stephen Curry
The Golden State Warriors haven’t missed Stephen Curry at all thus far in the playoffs. Their MVP and best player has only played in 33 playoff minutes, and the team has only lost one game. I don’t think anyone could’ve saw this coming.
Sure, we all knew that the Warriors were a great team. But most assumed that the absence of Curry would have at least a bigger impact on the team. It really hasn’t. Yet. Which is really the key.
At what point will the Warriors begin to miss Curry, because they will eventually? The Warriors should be able to get by the first few games against the Blazers without Curry, but he needs to return sooner rather than later.
Everything is fine and dandy for the Warriors now. But they need to get Steph right. If he isn’t, the Warriors aren’t going to win the NBA Championship. No matter how great they look right now.
