2016 NBA Draft: Ranking And Analyzing The Top 20 Prospects
20. Tyler Ulis, PG, Kentucky
If Tyler Ulis was five or six inches taller, he’d probably be a top 10 pick. But, at 5-foot-9, expect to see Ulis taken late in the lottery or in the 20s of the first round. He’s gritty, a true leader, controls the pace of the game and simply doesn’t turn the ball over.
He’s everything you want in a point guard. It’s a shame that his height will keep him from being a true star at the next level. With the lack of size comes the concern on the defensive end, as it should.
Can Ulis, at 5-foot-9, guard point guards at 6-foot-4? That would be an awful lot to ask from him. Regardless, it’s not like there haven’t been over undersized point guards to make it in the NBA.
Ulis will; I just honestly don’t know how much of his game will translate.
