Sacramento Kings
SAC gets: Amir Johnson, Tyreke Evans
BOS gets: DeMarcus Cousins
Nawlins’ gets: Rudy Gay
Yes I did the ol’ hypotheticalDeMarcusCousinstoBostoneventhoughitprobablywonthappen trade, yes Rudy Gay got traded again, and Tyreke Evans went back to where it all started. There is a method to my madness.
If any of the reports that have come out of or about Sac-Town are true, then Sacramento’s front office is in shambles, even with the hiring of Dave Joerger. Love it or hate it, you have to hand it to ’em – they’re not afraid to take risks…which is exactly why they should trade DeMarcus Cousins.
The Celtics have a treasure trove of picks, and would certainly part with multiple picks in the deal, and the Pelicans would have to toss in one or two as well. For a rebuilding team that doesn’t have many, that’s a major victory. Adding in a high-energy, fanbase favorite type player in Amir Johnson goes a long way in helping said fanbase forget what their front office just did.
Tyreke Evans on the other hand isn’t the picture of health, but he is a solid versatile player who could honestly play PG if need be with Rondo almost assuredly leaving this offseason and Darren Collison dealing with legal troubles.
Boston finally gets that dominant low-block presence they so desperately need, and Brad Stevens would do wonders with him.
Rudy Gay replaces Tyreke Evans at the 3 and gets to share shots with Anthony Davis as Eric Gordon, Jrue Holiday and others could all be gone this offseason, in this article and/or real life.
