Boston Celtics

Boston gets: Nerlens NoelHollis Thompson

Philadelphia gets: Kelly OlynykR.J. Hunter, one, maybe two future 1st rounders

Boston is in desperate need of a rim protector (I’m a Celtics fan, and this year’s playoffs series against Atlanta was not pretty). Noel fits the bill, is young, an affordable contract, and wouldn’t cost much in terms of future assets; and they can still go after a high-profile free agent.

(#KDtoBoston anyone?)

Hollis Thompson is one of the NBA’s truly underrated three-point shooters. He’s a sharpshooter. For a team that struggled to hit 3s this past season, Thompson provides a real scoring threat off the bench.

Philly gets some floor spacing with Olynyk. Is he a starting caliber 4/5? The jury’s still out on that one, but on a rebuilding squad like Philly, they have time to figure it out. The future first rounder and another young sniper in Hunter only helps with Sauce Castillo’s poor play last season. Something’s gotta click.
