San Antonio Spurs

SA gets: Cody Zeller

CHA gets: Patty Mills

This is a simple player-for-player swap, but it benefits both sides in more ways than you think.

While the Spurs were expected to challenge the Warriors in the Western Conference Finals this year and did not meet that expectation, they are still a top-tier contender and just need to make a few minor tweaks to get even further than they did this year.

One way to do that is shore up your depth in the front court by giving a backup-PG needy team a proven and reliable team player.

Patty Mills would replace Jeremy Lin and still be in a decent situation with a Hornets squad that is looking to improve upon their impressive season and postseason appearance led by head coach Steve Clifford’s genius.

Cody Zeller had a very solid season for MJ’s Hornets, and showed his range on a fairly consistent basis. While the Spurs would already have Dirk and Duncan holding down the front court, it wouldn’t hurt to have young, fresh legs come playoff time.
