Minnesota Timberwolves

BOS receives: Shabazz Muhammad

MIN receives: Kelly Olynyk

I know, I know. ANOTHER trade with Boston involved. But after spending the past 10 minutes trying to find a good match, I settled on Kelly Olynyk.

While the Timberwolves are slowly but surely building a dynasty, they still have many areas of need, one of them being big man depth.

Taking a further look at the Timberwolves’ roster shows that outside of Karl-Anthony TownsKevin Garnett, and Gorgui Dieng, the Timberwolves don’t have a whole lot of (established) big men that can contribute. Enter Kelly Olynyk.

Olynyk when healthy is a floor spacing 5, which are a premium in today’s NBA. Pair him with Towns in the starting 5, or on the bench with Dieng allows Thibs to experiment a lot with his young core.

Boston, on the other hand, gets one of the NBA’s best kept secrets in Shabazz Muhammad. Besides by having one of the coolest names in the NBA, he is just crazy fun to watch play if you give him the ball. If the Celtics really do trade Jae Crowder this offseason, here’s his replacement.
