Golden State Warriors

GS gets: Khris Middleton

MIL gets: Andre Igoudala

Crazy right? The Warriors trading away one of their top defenders right after him playing such an integral role in their title run. But, even the teams in the Finals could use improvements.

I’m a huge fan of Igoudala, and wish that I had gotten into the NBA more when I was younger to watch him in Philly. The fact of the matter is that he’s not getting any younger, and the Warriors would be wise to sell high on his recent playoff performance to a rebuilding, young team that could use some veteran leadership outside of Jason Kidd.

Losing Middleton would hurt Milwaukee for sure, but if they’re really going to trade someone this offseason in hopes of getting legitimate assets in return, it’s not going to be Jabari Parker or the Greek Freak. Middleton becomes the odd man out.

Middleton is an underrated player still despite signing a max deal last offseason. He really is like Igoudala – plays defense very well, plays multiple positions, can handle the ball, and shoots the 3 at a high rate. Has a silky smooth midrange jumper too. With the NBA salary cap set to explode, his deal would look like chump change for the difference he would make on Golden State.
