4. Phoenix Suns: Jaylen Brown

It seems redundant to say that the Phoenix Suns could have definitely benefitted from landing a top two selection, seeing as any team would’ve been better off with a top-2 pick, but it’s especially true for Phoenix.

With the multi-point lineups that the Suns have made a staple of their offense in the past few years, they’ve been in need of a viable athlete to man the wing. Assuming Simmons and Ingram will both be off the board at this point, Jaylen Brown becomes the best possible option to fit this spot. By no means is Brown the 4th best player available in the draft, but at this point with the apparent superstar level talent off the board a team like Phoenix should look to draft based on need.

Jaylen Brown has solid upside, and is capable of producing now. He’s great at cutting to the basket off-ball as well as attacking the interior with the rock in hand. His defensive prowess is also a major plus to a team who struggled mightily at defending the perimeter.

The real appeal of the former California standout is what lies beyond next season. Going forward he has all the tools necessary to become a solid wing partner for Devin Booker, last year’s 13th overall pick who the team appears to be incredibly high on.
