NBA Draft 2016: Results And Pick-By-Pick Analysis

1. Philadelphia 76ers

Pick: Ben Simmons, F, LSU  

This was the expected move for the Philadelphia 76ers and should not come as a surprise. It wasn’t. Clearly, Philly believes that Simmons will be the best player to come out of this draft, and I don’t think many will argue with that premise.

With the new direction of the Sixers, Simmons fits the mold with where Philly wants to move forward with. He isn’t all the way there with his jump shot, but that will come in time. Simmons is a bit forward that can rival LeBron James‘ playmaking abilities from the 3 or 4 position.

No, I’m not comparing the two because that would simply be unfair. Simmons is a solid new leaf for the Sixers. They might finally have their guy.
