The NBA might be slowly trending away from the traditional center position, but that doesn’t mean that there aren’t quality bigs still trying to be the exceptions. Or, at the very least, trying to keep the position alive.
There might not be talents like Shaquille O’Neal, Hakeem Olajuwon or Kareem Abdul-Jabbar in the league right now, but there some quality players that are holding down the center position. Even in the changing NBA, there’s still a need for bigs – even if it’s an ever-changing role.
As the 2016-17 NBA season approaches – yea, we’re still in August – we decided to begin a five-part series in which we rank the top 10 players at every position.
We begin by ranking the top 10 centers in the NBA.
