NBA Player Rankings: Top 10 Small Forwards In The NBA Entering 2016-17
6. Andrew Wiggins – Minnesota Timberwolves
2015-16 Stats: 20.7 points, 3.6 rebounds, 2 assists, 1 steal, 45.9% field goals
After two seasons, Andrew Wiggins is primed to have another incredible year for the Minnesota Timberwolves. For many budding stars, the third year is where the “big” jump is made. In other words, when young, talented players become stars.
In retrospect, many believe that the Cleveland Cavaliers should’ve kept Wiggins instead of trading for Kevin Love in 2014. While it’s still very much debatable, even though the Cavs have won an NBA Championship since then, there’s no question that Cleveland could’ve used Wiggins. He’s a prolific scorer who has been working on improving his game from beyond the three-point line – which could be the next step in his progression.
If the Timberwolves want to make the playoffs for the first time since the 2003-04 season, Wiggins will have to take his game to the next level.
