3. Kawhi Leonard – San Antonio Spurs
2015-16 Stats: 21.2 points, 6.8 rebounds, 2.6 assists, 1.8 steals, 50.6% field goals
The back-to-back Defensive Player of the Year is poised to lead the San Antonio Spurs franchise now that Tim Duncan has retired. The 25-year-old forward was named to his first All-Star game last season and averaged a career-high 21.2 points per game.
In the playoffs, his numbers were consistent with his regular season output, as he averaged 22.5 points, 6.3 rebounds, 2.8 assists, 2.6 steals and shot 50 percent from the field.
Leonard played a vital role in the Spurs’ historic season – even if it was overshadowed by the 73-win Golden State Warriors. With an increased role this season, expect Leonard’s numbers to only increase.
