Courtney Lee, New York Knicks

Contract: Four-year, $48M

Inking Courtney Lee to a four year, $48 million dollar deal, the Knicks got their starting two guard for only $12 million per season. That’s a bargain for a 3-and-D guard who will thrive in the triangle offense.

And when comparing that to the Orlando Magic giving Jeff Green $15 million for one season, you start to understand what a value the Knicks got Lee for.

If the Magic are willing to pay that much for a reserve forward, getting a starting two guard for $12 million per year is an absolute steal. Especially if he’s the perfect fit next to Carmelo Anthony, Derrick Rose and Kristaps Porzingis.

Lee doesn’t need to have plays called for him, and that’s going to come into use, since he’s going to be playing beside three high usage players in the starting unit.

For the price they got him at, the Knicks already look like winners in this deal. If he continues to thrive in the orange and blue, Courtney Lee will have Knicks fans backing him in no time.
