71-72 Accolades: NBA MVP, Scoring Champ

If you adjust for competition and league strength this is probably the greatest season of all time. Since we aren’t doing that, KAJ’s best season slides in at No. 3.

In only his third year in the NBA, he took it by storm by winning the league MVP and scoring title on his way to grabbing 17 boards per night. On top of his prolific scoring and glasswork, Kareem was a chef in the low post racking up another five assists per night.

KAJ began to solidify himself as one of the all-time greats during the 1971-72 season, and he never looked backed.
