Even though Jimmy Butler will probably end up being labeled more and more as a small forward by the time the 2016-17 season is over, I think it’s only fair to group him with the shooting guards until he actually begins playing the 3.
With Derrick Rose sidelined, Butler blossomed into the star that the Chicago Bulls are now handing their entire franchise over to. As one of the better two-way players in the NBA, Butler has distinguished himself as one of the best shooting guards in the league.
Butler still has to work on mastering a consistent jump shot and leaves a lot to be desired in demanding the ball while on the court, but that will come in time. At 26, Butler is well on his way to becoming a superstar in today’s game.
