5. Shaquille O’Neal – 2000 NBA Finals MVP

Stats: 38.0 PPG 16.7 RPG 2.3 APG 1.0 SPG 2.7 BPG

Arguably the greatest Finals performer of all-time clocks in at No. 5 on this list with his 2000 Finals performance. The Big Shaqtus was unstoppable in this time in LA, and he demonstrated it here on the biggest stage.

In a series where Kobe underplayed tremendously, Shaq took on the load. Averaging a double-double on the biggest stage, combined with 30 points per game is hard enough, yet Shaq dwarfed that. O’Neal would go on to almost average 40/20 a night with impeccable defense.

The reason this isn’t higher up on the list is because no one simply matched up with him in Indiana. I also don’t mean match up the skill level; Indiana simply had no true quality big men. The Lakers would go on to win in six against a much weaker Pacers team, but Shaq still dominated. He may have had no true task to go against him, but he still did his thing.
