3. Jerry West – 1969 Finals MVP

Stats: 37.9 PPG 4.7 RPG 7.4 APG

The only player to ever win a Finals MVP in a losing effort had to come in on this list somewhere. West dominated the 1969 NBA Finals, but unfortunately came up short as his team was ousted by the Boston Celtics in seven games.

West did everything he could against the mighty Celtics but his team didn’t have his back. Jerry would go on to average just about 40 points, combined with doing his best to facilitate and help out on the glass.

The reason this isn’t higher up is because of his poor defensive efforts against Sam Jones.
