Honorable Mentions

Indiana Pacers

  • The Pacers are going to have one of the fastest paces in the league this year. They ranked top 10 in pace last season, but Pacers’ president Larry Bird oversaw a personnel change at head coach, bringing in Nate McMillan to become faster. Interesting aspect could be how Al Jefferson plays into this.

Detroit Pistons

  • One of the many young teams in the NBA that people are eager to see take the next step. The only drawback to watching this team is Andre Drummond’s free throw shooting. Bringing in Boban Marjanovic does add entertainment value, thanks to his gargantuan presence in the paint.

Oklahoma City Thunder

  • Aside from the MVP-caliber season that any person with basketball knowledge is pegging on Russell Westbrook, the Thunder are intriguing with the ‘Stache brothers patrolling the paint, addition of Victor Oladipo, and of course what the next step is in the post-KD and Ibaka era. It is well-known how the team performed without Durant when he was sidelined with injuries. However, this team is constructed much different and has more experience going into the 2016-17 season.
