8 – Blake Griffin – Los Angeles Clippers

Stats: 21.1 points, 8.7 rebounds, 4.4 assists, 1.2 steals , 0.6 blocks

Record: 14-5

Previous Ranking: 10th

Blake Griffin has moved up in the MVP race as he and fellow teammate Chris Paul have led the Clippers to a 14-5 start (which included an 11-1 spurt).

There is a clear difference in the most important player on a team and the best player. That is just the case in Los Angeles, as Chris Paul is the more important to the team, but Griffin is easily having a better season numbers wise.

Either way you look at it, the Clippers have a dangerous duo and have proven they can play with anyone in the league.
