LeBron, Melo, CP3, Wade, will eventually pass the torch to the next wave of superstars when their time is done. Durant, Curry, Kawhi, Harden, Westbrook will then pass the torch to Anthony Davis, Lillard, KAT, Giannis, Kristaps. You get the picture. This is a long chain of terrifying league talent.
The NBA is oozing it out of every orifice. Young players are getting better faster. The league has never been in better hands.
Night in and night out you can turn on NBA league pass and tune into a game that is going to be worth watching. Whether it’s Boston vs Toronto battling each other for second in the east, the young Timberwolves who are so entertaining to watch with their young stars, or Harden/Westbrook is playing and you want to watch a guaranteed triple double.
No matter the reason, there is always going to be entertainment.
The league has never had such a wide variety of entertainment. Look at these creatures.
Two foreign unicorns guarding each other. Giannis can play 1-4 (maybe 5) offensively. He can bring the ball up and run the point, and he is an absolute nightmare to guard in transition. Defensively, you can put him on whoever you want. Kristaps is 7-foot-3 and is doing insane things like you watched above. Versatility is the name of the game in the current NBA. The more you can do, the better.
The most current trend the NBA is seeing is the stretch 5. Centers are no longer one-dimensional. Karl-Anthony Towns and Joel Embiid are two trend setters to thank for this. There is a reason they are both getting incredible amounts of all-star fan votes. They are fun to watch!
Both players are stupid athletic for their size, with the ability to take their guy off the dribble and play make. The reason they are able to do this so easily is because their ability to step out and make the three pointer. Opposing centers have to contest their jumpers which puts them at an awkward position. This just in: 7-footers don’t like to close out 25 feet from the rim.
Al Horford is late on his close out and is forced to contest the shot from Embiid because he is shooting 37 percent from three. JoJo sees his out of control close out and decides to make him and the entire city of Boston pay.
Centers are not supposed to be able to do this. Players and the entire league is evolving into something we’ve never seen before and its beautiful to be able to watch.
