Super Teams

There is less parody in the NBA, I agree. The Cavs and the Warriors are head and shoulders above anyone else. The East has less competition than the West. Unless Toronto can make a push for Paul Millsap, or Boston makes a big move using their Brooklyn pick, I can’t see anyone representing the Eastern Conference other than the kid from Akron.

In the West, don’t sleep on Houston. They have the league MVP running the pick & roll every possession and there’s nothing anyone can do about it. Also, Memphis came back and put a beating on the Warriors last week who shows some serious weaknesses. The Spurs, Rockets, and Grizzlies could give the Warriors a tough serious come playoff time.

But what we’re really here to talk about is the NBA Finals rubber match. People argue that these superteams are bad for the league. Last year’s Finals was the most electric finals in NBA history. Game 7 of the 2016 NBA finals was the most watched NBA game since Michael Jordan’s last game (Game 6 1998 finals vs Utah).

When (if) it does happen, the 2017 NBA finals rubber match will break last year’s records with ease. It’s what everyone wants. Two healthy super Teams fighting to close the rivalry. These two teams are fantastic for the NBA.
