NBA Rumors: DeMarcus Cousins will reportedly re-sign long term this summer with the Sacramento Kings, dispelling any and all trade whispers

The Sacramento Kings might be basketball hell, but there’s nothing a little $200-plus million that can’t fix.

And that’s just what seems to be the case for DeMarcus Cousins.

According to CSN California, Cousins intends on signing the huge contract extension this offseason.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

"[via CSN Bay Area]CSN California has confirmed through a league source that the two sides have tossed around numbers and that barring a late change in direction by either side, Cousins intends to sign a massive, max-money extension, estimated at roughly $207 million during the offseason that will keep the big man in a Kings uniform long-term."

So, about those trade rumors? Yea, those are kind of dead right now. And that’s fine. If Cousins wants to remain in Sacramento in order to make a rich $200 million, all power to him. Although, I think it’s time he stops complaining about the Kings and losing.

Can he do it, behind closed doors? Sure. He’s free to do what he pleases. Should he do it and act like he’s tired of his situation in Sacramento? Absolutely not.

If Boogie Cousins doesn’t want to be in Sacramento, he has the opportunity to leave in a year and a half. Assuming he goes through and re-signs a huge extension with the Kings this summer, he loses all power and will likely be “stuck” in Sacramento for a very long time.

Nevertheless, this summer is going to be interesting for DeMarcus Cousins and the Sacramento Kings. Cousins will be able to officially sign a huge contract extension with the Kings on July 1. It won’t be until that point to see how “ready” Cousins is to really go all-in with this franchise.
