NBA Rumors: Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker suffers his second torn ACL in three years; he will miss the remainder of the season
After undergoing further medical evaluation, Milwaukee Bucks forward Jabari Parker has been diagnosed with a torn ACL and will miss the remainder of the 2016-17 NBA season.
This is the second time in which Parker has torn his ACL in this knee. He originally torn the same ligament during his rookie season two years ago. Per the Bucks, Parker will be on a 12-month rehab timeline after undergoing surgery.
In a breakout season, this has to be considered devastating news for the young Buck. Parker was thriving this season, averaging career highs in points (20.1), rebounds (6.2), assists (2.8) and minutes (33.9).

Milwaukee, despite their current record of 22-29, was/is still in the mix of the Eastern Conference Playoffs. Along with Parker, headlined by Giannis Antetokounmpo, Milwaukee’s young core was improving rapidly as the season has progressed. To make matters worse, the same night that Parker went down with the injury was the same game in which the team was welcoming back Khris Middleton back from injury.
Even though the return of Middleton will help offset the loss of Parker, there’s no question that this injury will have huge implications on the Bucks’ postseason hopes.
This injury also begs the question, how should the Milwaukee Bucks approach the NBA Trade Deadline? There were whispers that the Bucks would be buyers in the next couple of weeks. However, this injury might change all that.

As Parker enters surgery and rehabilitation, the Bucks will need to make a decision on his future with the team. Parker will be a restricted free agent at the end of the 2017-18 season. And coming back from two torn ACLs is no joke. This is going to be a tall task for the young forward.
