NBA Trade Rumors: According to reports, the Miami Heat aren’t expected to be sellers at the trade deadline. Instead, will look to bolster roster

For the most part, many expected the Miami Heat to sell at the NBA Trade Deadline in a couple weeks. However, that was before this insane win streak – now at 13, and they face the Philadelphia 76ers next – that the Miami Heat have embarked on.

And according to a report from Sporting News, this recent streak has changed some things. Per Sean Deveney, the Heat will not be sellers at the NBA Trade Deadline. Instead, they will do what they can to add a piece.

Specifically, a power forward that can shoot and defense – a better Luke Babbitt, if you will.

"[via Sporting News]But now the consensus around the league is that the last month’s success has flipped the Heat from the brink of a fire sale to buyers’ status on the market. “They were willing to listen to whatever anyone wanted to offer,” one league executive said. “But those calls have changed, because now they’re looking for pieces to help them as they are.”….Now, sources indicate, the Heat are looking to bolster their power forward spot, hoping to find a big guy who can shoot from the perimeter and defend."

Interestingly, this report falls in line with what the Miami Herald hinted at earlier in the week – that the Heat were going to keep a close eye on the availability of Serge Ibaka.

Even though Miami likely lacks the assets to pull off such a deal, it’s becoming more and more clear that this team isn’t going to just turn off the lights on the season just yet. If nothing else, it’s pretty evident that Goran Dragic and Hassan Whiteside won’t be moved at the trade deadline.
