NBA Trade Rumors: Houston Rockets Interested In Wilson Chandler
NBA Trade Rumors: In addition to the LA Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder, the Houston Rockets are interested in Wilson Chandler
DeMarcus Cousins will likely be the biggest name moved when looking back at the 2017 NBA Trade Deadline, but there are a number of other “smaller” name players that could be on the move over the course of the next few days.
One of those names being Wilson Chandler.
And according to ESPN’s Chris Haynes, the Houston Rockets are one name to keep an eye on when it comes to Chandler. The LA Clippers and Oklahoma City Thunder are two other teams that are reportedly interested in the veteran swing man.
"[via ESPN]Another team to keep an eye on in pursuit of Denver forward Wilson Chandler: Houston"
It was reported earlier this season that Chandler wanted out of Denver because he wasn’t happy with his role. Chandler wants to be a full-time starter, but has only been in Denver’s starting five in 19 of the 50 games he’s played in.
Interestingly, Chandler is having as close to a career year as possible. The 29-year-old forward is averaging 16 points, seven rebounds and two assists per game in 30 minutes per night. He’s averaging 45 percent from the field and 34 percent from three-point range.
And Chandler would make any team happy, even though it’s still not entirely clear what the Nuggets would be interested in return. Chandler would provide any team with a versatile forward, who could play the 3 or 4. He can defend, hit open shots and rebound effectively for his size.
Houston doesn’t exactly have ton of assets to play around with, so this type of deal may need to involve a third team in order to make things more feasible. Though, if the Nuggets intend to move Chandler, his market won’t be restricted to a couple teams.
As strange as it sounds, there could be a bidding war for Wilson Chandler.
