Great College Player to Solid Role Player in the NBA: TJ Leaf (PF, UCLA)

This recognition goes to Nick Collison, Josh McRoberts, Tyler Hansbrough, Jimmer Fredette and all the others who once captured the imagination of the whole nation and made everyone believe that they could be legit stars in the next level.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

TJ Leaf would most likely be part of the list soon. He looked very good as a Bruin this year playing with Lonzo Ball, but he’ll likely only translate to a solid role player at the next level.

"[via NBADraft.net] He has a European-like skillset and does a great job of exploiting mismatches on offense … Although he is not an advanced post player at this stage in his career, he has shown flashes of good footwork and a variety of post moves from the block"

I see him more as a Nick Collison type than a Kevin Love type. Still, who am I to say that? We have to give him the benefit of the doubt, right? Of course. As always, we do. And I do hope, I am wrong, especially for the team who would use a lottery pick on him come June.

I just hope the imagination turns into reality this time around for TJ Leaf.
