Jonathon Simmons, San Antonio Spurs (Restricted Free Agent)

Current Salary: $875K

Age: 27

It may be tempting to suggest that Jonathon Simmons is simply a product of the Spurs system, but one look at a YouTube highlight real will make you think differently. He’s incredibly athletic, and actually knows what he’s doing. If he didn’t, Pop would never let him near the court.

Nothing about his stats – traditional or advanced – jump off the page, but he’s been good enough to be a part of the Spurs rotation all year. The fact that he plays shooting guard will help his value to other teams, as will the fact that he can credibly defend multiple positions.

Some team will take a chance on him being able to do more in an expanded roll, and as we’ll see further down this list, the Spurs have someone else slightly more important to spend their money on this summer. He’s likely gone, and it wouldn’t be surprising at all to see a Philadelphia or Brooklyn throw an offer his way in the neighborhood of $12-15 million per season.
