As the 2016-17 NBA season begins to come to a close, we go team-by-team to take a look at every rookie in the Western Conference

The NBA’s Western Conference is full of veteran talent and stars, but today we’re going to focus on the rookies. In other words, the future of the NBA.

And there are probably more than you realize. Even though not all are getting the starters minutes that they probably desire or even deserve, there are still some you should be paying more attention to.

Going team-by-team, we breakdown every team’s rookies that should be garnering more headlines.

Dallas Mavericks

AJ Hammons, Dorian Finney-Smith, Nicolas Brussino, Yogi Ferrell, Jarrod Uthoff

Dallas seems to be stacking up a good amount of rookies on their team, but Yogi Ferrell is the man people have been talking about recently.

He initially signed a 10-day deal with the team and now he’s played in 24 games for them. When he signed ( to ultimately agreed to a multi-year contract), it was a bit of a turn around for the team. Other than Ferrel, Finney-Smith has clocked quite a bit of time for the team. He’s been more effective for them on the defensive end and could use some work on his shot to become a better all-around player.

Brussino, Uthoff, and Hammons all don’t average too many minutes per game so it’s harder to determine what kind of players they could be. However, Dallas seems to be hiding away it’s young players in favor of playing their vets more.
