The Utah Jazz have been through a lot over the past few years, but for the first time in what it seemed like “forever” they have clinched the playoffs

The Utah Jazz have had its ups and downs throughout the last few years in the NBA, but this year has been one of their best seasons to date.

Lead by All-Star small forward Gordon Hayward, who averages 21.8 points per game 3.5 assists per game and 5.5 rebounds per game, and Rudy Gobert, who averages 13.5 points per game 1.2 assists per game 12.8 rebounds per game, the Jazz are 48-30 and sit in the 4th seed in the Western Conference standings.

One reason they are good is because they have a young roster. Only two players on the team are 30 or older, making them a very athletic team. They also have a very talented coach, Quin Snyder.

In his first three years with the Utah Jazz, they have never had a season with under 38 wins, considering that he has only been a head coach for three years, that is not to bad.

Even though the Jazz have never been to the playoffs with Snyder, they have clinched a playoff berth for the first time in five years this season, and look to make the most of it.

If there is one big blemish in Utah’s roster, it’s likely their thin bench. And that’s something that needs to be addressed in the offseason.

A few possibilities, the Jazz could sign a J.J. Redick or a Taj Gibson in order to shore up their depth. Along with re-signing both Hayward and George Hill, this should be their priority this summer.

The Utah Jazz have a chance to transform a contender in the next 3-5 years. It’s going to be interesting to see if Utah makes the necessary steps this summer, to elevate their roster with key offseason moves, in order to climb higher in the West in the years ahead.

All in all, the Jazz have an exciting, promising future. Getting back to the playoffs, though, was always the first step. That has now been complete.
