Reason Why It Won’t Happen #4: Andrew Wiggins

In the summer of 2018, Jordan Hill will be an unrestricted free agent.

OH THE HUMANITY!

(Guys, I’m kidding)

No, what this really is about is former No. 1 overall pick Andrew Wiggins.

Since Wiggins has entered the league, he’s only improved each season. It won’t be long before we’re watching him consistently earning All-Star berths with KAT, and LeBron crying as he wishes he had kept Wiggins instead of watching Kyrie and K-Love get traded because Commissioner Silver finally had enough of teams just paying their way to a championship; a la the New York Yankees (of old).

In all seriousness though, you’re lying to yourself if you don’t think suitors are going to be out the door with trucks full of cash ready to throw at the (would-be) 23-year-old Canadian. Oh, yeah – Andrew Wiggins is from Canada.

Just because he’s from Canada doesn’t mean he’s going to sign with Toronto!

It doesn’t mean he won’t.

While that might seem like a childish response, it’s the truth. Wiggins is only going to be 23 when he’s eligible for his first mega-contract extension. He’s already mentioned how it would be cool one day to play for the hometown team. If you’re Kyle Lowry, why not wait around and find out?
