NBA: Breaking Down Every Eastern Conference Rookie, Team-By-Team
Boston Celtics
Jaylen Brown, Demetrius Jackson
Jaylen Brown is the big pick up the Celtics made in the draft and he fits in nicely with the team and Brad Stevens’ coaching style. If you just look at his stat line, the biggest blunder would be his 68.6 free throw percentage. That’s something that can be worked on over time, but otherwise, he’s a solid player.
Boston overall has a young team and Brown is a good piece off of the bench for them. He did start in 20 games, so there is some potential for him to eventually be a full time starter. For an NBA rookie, he’s heading in the right direction. Some days he won’t score, so consistency will be key for him. Overall, he’s a rookie with a lot of potential.
Demetrius Jackson only appeared in five games this season and in two of those games he only played 13 and 11 seconds. This is by no means enough court time to say much else about him.
