As the 2016-17 NBA season comes to a close, we compile our final NBA MVP award rankings and crown a winner

It has been a remarkable NBA season, it truly has. Unfortunately, only one player can win the NBA’s MVP award, especially since it would be extremely unlikely for there to be Co-Award winners (plus, that’s something I don’t believe in).

So who is the MVP award winner? Let’s take a look at our final NBA MVP rankings.

No. 5 – Rudy Gobert – Utah Jazz – C

Key Stats: 14.0 PPG, 12.8 RPG, 2.7 BPG, 130 ORTG, 99 DRTG

Let’s talk about Rudy Gobert for a second. Gobert is a high-level player who plays for a small market team, therefore he understandably is going to get less recognition, but he has been incredible this season.

Rudy Gobert is only in his 4th season in the NBA but is showing he will be a Euro baller here to stay with the numbers he is putting up this year. Averaging a double-double as well as, in my opinion, being the favorite for the NBA’s Defensive Player of the Year award is fantastic.

Gobert is healthy and, for the first time in his career, has started 80 games. And, guess what, the Jazz are back in the playoffs after an four-year absence. This is not a coincidence.

The Stifle Tower is also shooting over 65 percent from the floor and has his Jazz will enter the playoffs as the 5th seed in the conference.
