No. 2 – James Harden – Houston Rockets – PG

Key Stats: 29.3 PPG, 11.3 APG, 8.1 RPG, 118 ORTG, 1.5 SPG

James Harden had the NBA MVP award at the one-yard line, and then fumbled it, for me at least. Let’s save that for the last segment, though.

Harden is having a season everyone could have predicted, but no one would have thought it would have come to fruition. Not only is he having just a spectacular season, but his team has 54 wins, good enough for 3rd in the West – and that would give them the 1st seed in the East.

What he does on offense and his basketball IQ is also just simply unmatched. He may no longer be my NBA MVP, but I would still not be opposed to him winning it. Any other year, he is deserving.
