Recent Playoff History

For the last three years, people around the league including myself have looked at the Houston Rockets as not being a serious playoff threat. They’re a finesse glamour team who puts up good numbers in the regular season but come playoff time seem a tad uninterested.

Last year, the Rockets had a tough draw facing the best team ever assembled on planet earth the Golden State Warriors. Not much you can do about that team unless you’re the greatest player of all-time (@KingJames). They lost in the first round in five games.

The previous year they beat Dallas in the first round and proceeded to beat the LA Clippers in historic comback fashion in an epic 7-game series. All signs pointed to this being the year for Houston to bust out of their mediocre shell. Then along came the Warriors. They lost to Steph and the boys again in five games who then went on to be the NBA champions.

There is a different vibe with this years Houston Rockets team going into the playoffs, and here is why.
