When was the last time the Golden State Warriors and Portland Trail Blazers met in the NBA Playoffs?

In the history of the NBA Playoffs, we’ve seen teams from the same conference meet each other. Some teams seem to meet each year and other teams see each other barely. In this “Last time they met” series, we’re going to look at the current NBA playoff matchups and review the last time these two teams met in the playoffs.

So, the 1st seed Warriors are going to take on the 8th seed Blazers. These teams met only once in the playoffs, and that was last year.

Remember how Golden State made NBA history with those 73 wins and 8 losses? So, the Blazers were one of those teams to beat the Warriors during the regular season. You also had a Warriors team that wasn’t completely healthy as they were missing Stephen Curry.

Basically, this meant 5th seed Portland went into the series not scared of the powerful looking 1st seed Warriors.

The Warriors started off with two wins. Then, the Blazers grabbed a win. The Warriors finished things off with two wins. The series was simple. However, the Blazers fought hard and some say they really wore the Warriors down despite it being a quick series.

Golden State may not fear (not that they ever did) the Blazers this year. This Blazers team seems to have taken major steps back from last year’s “a couple of pieces and years from contending” team.

This almost looks and smells like a sweep, which is what last year was meant to be anyway.

This Golden State team might actually be better than last year’s team, even with the record difference. Combine that with Portland taking a step back and this series could get messy quickly.

From a regular season standpoint, Golden State swept the Blazers, and this included a 45 point win and 23 point win as well. So, yeah, this may not end well for Portland.
