After a thrilling Game 4 win over the San Antonio Spurs to tie the series at 2, will momentum be the difference for the Memphis Grizzlies in Game 5?

By now you have probably had time to catch your breath after the thrilling Game 4 matchup between the San Antonio Spurs and Memphis Grizzlies.

The Grizzlies picked up the victory, 110-108 in overtime off a Marc Gasol game winner. With the win Memphis tied the series at 2, which now begs the question can Memphis take down the Spurs?

The Grizzlies have made a huge turnaround in a short time after falling behind 2-0. Memphis has turned it up on offense to tie the series at 2. The Grizzlies scored 82 in both of the games in San Antonio but in their return back to Memphis they have scored 105 and 110, take that for data!

Following David Fizdale’s epic rant, Memphis has been energized and motivated. The Grizzlies team even paid the $30k fine for Fizdale.

What will probably be forgotten about this incredible game is Kawhi Leonard’s superb performance. Kawhi absolutely took over the fourth quarter scoring 16 straight points in the last five minutes. Kawhi had big time shots in the fourth quarter and overtime but unfortunately it was not enough.

Leonard finished the game with 43 points and eight rebounds.

However, Mike Conley’s performance certainly will be remembered. Many people feel Conley is overpaid but his performances this series have proved otherwise. Conley is elevating his game when Memphis most needs him and he especially came up big in Game 4.

Conley scored 35 points to go with eight assists and nine rebounds. Conley also hit his own clutch shot with a floater to tie the game late. Conley and the Grizzlies are showing they will not go without a fight.

With this statement win, I believe the Memphis Grizzlies now have a legitimate chance to win the series. Marc Gasol’s game-winner gives Memphis all the momentum going into Game 5. During Kawhi Leonard’s phenomenal stretch of play, Memphis refused to go away and never quit.

One thing you will never see is the Grizzlies do is quit, their Grit N’ Grind motto perfectly exemplifies Memphis. The Spurs should have reason to worry because the Grizzlies are not going to be rooked.
