Point Guards

1. Stephen Curry, Golden State Warriors, Unrestricted

The sharpshooter is set to be on the market but he definitely is not going anywhere. Curry’s numbers are down from the previous year with the addition of Kevin Durant, however, Curry is still a top five player and his stats back that up.

Steph is averaging 25.3 PPG, 6.7 APG and shooting 41.1 percent from three which is actually a career low. Curry will undoubtedly command a max contract but it would not be surprising to see him take a pay cut.

Prediction: Stays with the Warriors.

2. Chris Paul, Los Angeles Clippers, Player Option

The man they call the “Point God” is going to be a free agent but it remains to be seen what he will do. Most players are supposed to decline after 30 but Paul seems to get even better amazingly. Paul remains a top 3 PG in the NBA with his great court vision paired with his high basketball IQ.

Paul is averaging 18.1 PPG, 9.1 APG and 2 SPG, showing his strong defensive ability. Chris Paul should receive a max contract as well.

More from Sir Charles In Charge

Prediction: Re-signs with Clippers with more power than ever.

3. Kyle Lowry, Toronto Raptors, Player Option

Lowry is set to hit free agency but he has formed a repertoire with Demar Derozan so it would be surprising to see him leave. Lowry since coming to Toronto has improved each year even with the injuries this season he managed to post career bests. Kyle Lowry is a top 10 PG as a result of the work he put in to improve his shooting and get in better shape. Lowry is averaging a career high 22.1 PPG and 7.0 APG. Lowry will receive a max contract this summer.

Prediction: Re-signs with Toronto.

4. Jeff Teague, Indiana Pacers, Unrestricted

Jeff Teague after being traded to Indiana this past summer is set to hit the market with an unclear future. Teague is a solid starting PG capable of leading a team. At 28 there may not be much more room for improvement with Teague. Teague averaged 15.3 PPG and a career-high 7.8 APG for Indiana. Teague will likely command a salary of $15m plus in this inflated market.

Prediction: Teague stays home, re-signs with Indiana.

5. Jrue Holiday, New Orleans Pelicans, Unrestricted

Jrue Holiday is going to be a free agent after several seasons in New Orleans. It appears unlikely Holiday will return as he never played a full season with the Pelicans. However, when healthy Holiday is an effective point guard and he is only 26. Holiday in 67 games this season averaged 15.4 PPG and 7.3 APG. Holiday could end up getting a big payday if a team is betting on him being healthy.

Prediction: Holiday to the PG needy Knicks.
