NBA Rumors: After leaving South Beach for his hometown Chicago Bulls a season ago, Dwyane Wade can make another power move this summer

Dwyane Wade’s first season in a Chicago Bulls uniform was tumultuous to say the least. After deciding to leave the Miami Heat, the team he previously had spent the entirety of his career with, the transition to Chicago was far from seamless.

Rajon Rondo was also brought into the mix this past offseason, further complicating matters. Rondo struggled to find his place in the rotation. Jimmy Butler was far and away the alpha dog with Wade stepping back as he did in Miami with the arrival of LeBron James earlier this decade.

Rondo’s frustration with his inconsistent role, along with a few other the team’s struggles on the court, led to tension amongst the veterans and the young players. Wade missed about a month with a fractured elbow late in the season to further complicate matters. The team limped to eighth place in the Eastern Conference, barely managing to crack into the playoff picture.

All of the sudden, Chicago woke up in the postseason. Rondo, Wade and Butler were firing on all cylinders, taking the first two games from the top-seeded Celtics on the road. However, Rondo injured his thumb and would go on to miss the rest of the series. Boston went on to win four straight, promptly ending an up-and-down season.

The postseason offered only a glimpse at the potential the Bulls have. Had Rondo not been injured, one of the biggest upsets in NBA postseason history could’ve been on tap. One can only speculate how far the would’ve-been cinderella team could’ve gone.

However, now that the season has concluded, Dwyane Wade can opt to leave Chicago for another city. Should he leave, he could go anywhere he wants, including numerous championship contenders who could court the hall of famer to be. Staying in the Windy City may not present as fruitful endeavors. So, where could he go?
