Boston Celtics

Another intriguing opportunity for the former NBA Champion is to join the team that just knocked him out of the playoffs: the Boston Celtics. The Celtics shocked the NBA world by claiming the top seed in the Eastern Conference over the Cleveland Cavaliers.

However, the Celtics are noticeably lacking a second scoring option behind their star point man Isaiah Thomas. Al Horford and Avery Bradley are productive but neither of them are purebred scorers like Wade. He truly could take this team to another level. That’s pretty scary considering they finished the season in first with the current squad.

The playoffs are still young, but early indications are that Boston will have significant trouble dethroning King James after struggling to oust the Bulls in the first round. The Washington Wizards may even be able to knock out the Celts.

Adding Wade to this team would give them everything they need to win it all. Wade could play the three or split time with Bradley at the two. Al Horford can man the middle as well as anyone in the association. Jae Crowder likely would be the sixth man should Wade take over the three spot. They also have a top draft pick to add whatever else they want to the equation.

While Wade is not the same player he used to be, he doesn’t have to be dominant since it’s clearly Isaiah’s show. He can take a step back and let Isaiah do the damage, acting as a lethal secondary option when called upon. It’s a very similar role to the one he embraced when he teamed with LeBron and Chris Bosh, which yielded four straight championship appearances.
