The Washington Wizards took care of business and protected home court in Game 4, tying the series 2-2. Here are a few game notes and some key takeaways
Without Kelly Oubre Jr., who was suspended for pushing Kelly Olynyk in Game 3, the Washington Wizards were headed into Game 4 in an uphill battle.
However, after shaking off some first quarter rust, once John Wall got warmed up, the Celtics didn’t stand much of a chance. Washington cruised to a 121-102 Game 4 victory over the Celtics, tying the series at 2-2. The series now shifts back to the TD Garden for Game 5.
Boston led by as many as 12 in the first half, but a dominant third quarter from the Wizards was the difference in the end.

Headed into halftime in a 48-all tie, Washington came out of the half landing haymakers on the Celtics. Spearheaded by a 26-0 run, the Wizards outscored Boston by 22 in the quarter.
That was pretty much the game after that.
Bradley Beal led all scores with 29. John Wall added 27 and Otto Porter poured in 18. In the loss, Isaiah Thomas led Boston in scoring with 19.
Let’s take a look at a few game notes and some takeaways from Game 4.
- The Wizards once again opened the first quarter with a lead (8-0), but quickly gave it away…again.
- Isaiah Thomas opened 5-5 from three-point land, and was absolutely insane.
- On the other hand, John Wall started 0-9 from the field. Then, he woke up late in the second quarter by finishing with 14 points (5-8 shooting, after the horrid start) at the half. He finished with 27.
- Tomas Satoransky filled in for Kelly Oubre Jr, who was suspended for Game 4. It was a significant drop off.
- They finally called a travel on Isaiah Thomas. Heh.
- A 26-0 run by the Washington Wizards in the third quarter pretty much ended things for the Celtics.
- Overall, the Wizards outscored the Celtics 42-20 in the third quarter. It was such a out-of-nowhere type run by Washington. Really strange. But, it worked.
- Another positive for Washington was Bradley Beal shooting 11-16, his highest shooting percentage of the series since Game 1. They needed it.
- It’s now 2-2. Both teams have won on their home courts.
