Dallas Mavericks

On any potential free agent list you have to include the Dallas Mavericks. Mark Cuban loves big game hunting, even though in recent years he hasn’t been very good at it.

Dallas was a lottery team this past season, so it could be a tougher sell. However, what they do have is a championship coach and cap space. They could sing a point guard like Jrue Holiday and Hayward. In this year’s strong draft they also have the 9th overall pick.

Another problem is they have Harrison Barnes who is the same position as Hayward. Rick Carlisle is smart, he can make it work. Expect lots of small lineups with Barnes at the 4 and Nowitzki at the 5.

Combine that with Hayward, Holiday and Wesley Matthews, you have a solid team. You would also have a first round pick, Nerlens Noel, J.J Barea, Yogi Ferrell off the bench. No doubt a tough sell, but there is no doubt in my mind that Dallas won’t at least try.
