No. 9 Dallas Mavericks-  Dennis Smith Jr. (NC State, FR, Point Guard)

Dennis Smith Jr. might be the biggest boom or bust player of this draft. And at this point in the draft, it’d be hard to pass up on his boom potential. Once thought to be in the contention for a top 3 pick, a lack of collegiate victories and true point guard abilities has hurt his draft stock.

However, Smith did average 18 PPG at NC State and attacks the basket with aggression. He’s a rim-rocker and has an incredible motor.

Dallas needs a point guard of the future and Smith might be the permanent answer, but he reminds me of Marcus Smart and could be a great asset coming off the bench. Smith would be a great value ick at No. 9.
