It’s important that we enjoy and not “hate watch” the 2017 NBA Finals between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors
It is June 1st, a Thursday. You recently came home from a tiresome day at work, or perhaps an uneventful school day. The good news is that 9:00 P.M. is just around the corner, or 6:00 P.M. for those that call the Pacific Coast home.
The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Golden State Warriors are facing off in the NBA Finals for the third consecutive year, something that has never been done before in the history of the game. You may not be a fan of the Cavaliers or the Warriors, but if you are an NBA fan, enjoy the moments that are about to come. They don’t come around everyday.
Obviously, there are the LeBron haters out there, and the bitter NBA fans who perhaps lost respect for Kevin Durant when he chose to take his talents to the Bay Area. But at the end of the day, they are two of the greatest players to ever step foot on a basketball court.

This is Lebron’s 7th consecutive Finals, we haven’t seen an accomplishment like this since the Bill Russell days. And Kevin Durant is one of the purest and most gifted scorers ever, many think that the 28-year-old has a chance to pass Kareem as the all-time scorer in NBA history.
We have never seen a player with his size and length, combined with his handle and scoring ability. He is a threat to score on every single spot on the floor. We haven’t seen these two greats face off in the Finals since 2012. You better believe they are starving to get this show on the road. I get it, it is extremely aggravating to see Lebron in the Finals year after year.
But, that is just a credit to his greatness and dominance. Enjoy it. We are never going to see a player like him ever again.
In 2015, the Warriors won it all. Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving were not there to help out LeBron. Health was an issue. In 2016, the Cavaliers won it all. Steph was really banged up and not close to 100 percent, and they lost their rim-protector in Andrew Bogut. Again, health was an issue.
This year, it seems as though health will not play a legitimate factor (as of now). Both teams have plenty of time to rest and to prepare. This makes the competition that much more special, all the horses are in the race. Almost everyone expected these two teams to be the last ones standing.
And here they are.
Both teams were assembled to beat the other. Passion, enthusiasm, grit, and toughness are going to be oozing out of these players. Both teams want to win the title this year in the worst way.
There are so many elite players meeting up in the NBA Finals this year. So, if you truly enjoy basketball, do yourself a favor, and watch this year’s Finals. It doesn’t matter who you love or who you hate, just sit back, relax, and enjoy the best basketball in the world to the fullest.
For those contemplating on whether to watch the Finals this year or not, just think about how epic this matchup is going to be
Remember, all-time greats aren’t in the NBA forever. Whether it is Tim Duncan and Kobe Bryant last year, or Paul Pierce this year, all good things come to an end. You may hate LeBron James, Kevin Durant, Stephen Curry, or another player in this series, but you will realize how much they meant to the game when they are gone.
Appreciate their greatness now, while you still have the chance.
The Cavaliers and the Warriors are coming into the NBA Finals with a combined 24-1 record. If they replicate even a sliver of the potency that we have seen thus far in the postseason, than we are in for an absolute treat. We are entering the best part of the NBA season. The Finals are right around the corner, and the draft is less than a month away.
For those contemplating on whether to watch the Finals this year or not, just think about how epic this matchup is going to be. There is a rivalry here, and both sides are hungry, counting the days until they clash. There are superstars and stars all over the place.
