NBA Trade Rumors: The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly actively trying to trade Jordan Clarkson ahead of the 2017 NBA Draft
There’s been a growing sense that changes will come this offseason to the Los Angeles Lakers’ core. With Magic Johnson taking over basketball operations, it’s only natural for there to be a few shakeups.
And with the Lakers being heavily linked to Lonzo Ball ahead of the 2017 NBA Draft, it’s only natural to believe that such change(s) that are coming to LA will be taking place in the backcourt.
Interestingly, while most actually pinpointed to D’Angelo Russell being the primary target in a potential offseason trade, it turns out that the Lakers are actually trying to move another backcourt player.

Jordan Clarkson, according to Basketball Insiders, is the player that the Lakers are “open” to trading.
"[via Basketball Insiders]I’ve been told by someone in the know that the Lakers are “increasingly open-minded” about trading Jordan Clarkson and to not be surprised for him to end up being moved as soon as draft night."
Although, NBA writer Jordan Schultz doesn’t just believe that the Lakers are open to moving Clarkson. He believes, or is hearing, that the Lakers are in fact “actively” trying to move him.
"[via Schultz]Per a source, Lakers are not just “open-minded” to trading Jordan Clarkson, as has been reported, but are actively seeking out offers."
If LA indeed plans on drafting a backcourt player in this month’s NBA Draft, it would make sense for LA to move one of Clarkson or Russell. And it appears that they are making it a priority to move Clarkson before throwing the towel on Russell, who will likely be asked to play the two-guard more often.
