After a Golden State onslaught in Game 1 of the NBA Finals, the Cleveland Cavaliers need to make two major adjustments to be competitive going forward. This series is still going to take seven games

We are in the era of jumping to conclusions. Everyone wants to hit the panic button after 1 possession of one quarter in one game. I get it, it gives us something juicy to talk about, but i have something new for us.

This NBA Finals series, between the Cleveland Cavaliers and Golden State Warriors, is still going to a game seven.

Ask the San Antonio Spurs after Game 1 of the Western Conference Semifinals if the series was over. Pop and the boys were down at one point in that game by as many as 40, and ended up losing by 27.

The next day the media was lined up foaming at the mouth saying “Rockets sweep” and the Hot Take Cannon was locked and loaded (shoutout @HPbasketball).

Good teams can make new game plans and execute those with the personnel they have on the floor. That is why the NBA constructs a seven-game series each round. The Spurs made adjustments after getting punched in the mouth Game 1, came back and won game two by 25.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will do the same in Game 2 tomorrow (maybe not by 25 but a W is a W), and here is why.
