2012 vs. Oklahoma City

The 2011-12 season James had along with his playoff run might be one the best personal runs of his career. He won MVP for a third time; knocked out the Celtics in 6 games, including a historic performance; and of he course captured his ever NBA Championship. The King proved why he had such a nickname.

But then, there are the naysayers. James’ coronation as a champion took place in the 66-game lockout shortened season.

"“It doesn’t prove nothing,” Evans told the Daily News when asked what it would mean to beat the defending champs. “That was a lockout season.”"

Evans isn’t the first NBA personnel to discredit a championship, as Phil Jackson did the same thing with the Spurs as they captured their first championship in 1999.

Five years since James’ first title and there’s little to no mention of it coming in a lockout year, but there of course are those types of people.
