7. Jayson Tatum, F, Duke

Jayson Tatum didn’t have a great start to his freshman year at Duke, but found his rhythm during the second half of the season. He’s an elite scorer, but doesn’t shoot consistently from NBA three-point range yet.

If he’s able to expand his range, he will become a lethal offensive threat. His defense is scaring off NBA teams. He has defensive potential, but he wasn’t able to consistently defend in college. He’s a combo forward, but seems too slow for small forwards and too small for power forwards.

If he’s able to improve his strength and stay in front of opposing small forwards, he’ll have a chance to prove that he’s more of a combo forward than a tweener.

8. Malik Monk, G, Kentucky

Malik Monk can score the basketball. He’s a lethal shooter from anywhere on the court. His range is endless, and should make him a hot commodity in this year’s draft. The NBA loves great shooters, and Monk is the best shooter in the draft.

He is a decent playmaker and shows combo guard abilities, but will need to improve his point guard skills is he wants to become more than just a shooting guard. He has defensive potential, but wasn’t always consistent on that end of the floor. He’s slightly rough around the edges, but has a chance of becoming an elite guard in the league.
