Bad Teams Running Out the Warriors Clock!

Golden State has made bad to mediocre teams really realize where they are. Here is how the Warriors are good for the league. The Warriors make bad teams think more in the long-term. Too often GM’s of bad an average team look for quick fixes, that end up doing more harm than good.

Take the Brooklyn Nets and Boston Celtics trade. That trade got the Nets one playoff series win, while costing them their future. Now the Celtics have several draft picks and young assets and are contenders in the long run.

Teams like the Suns, Magic, Nets and Kings may now be less aggressive in free agency. They will be willing to stay bad, and get good draft picks the next couple of years, and hope they hit on them. It basically comes down to bad teams saying what’s the point?

They’re saying, “Even if we do get better and get the 7th or 8th seed, we will get swept”. The good news is bad teams may make less short sided decisions. There is the other side of that coin and that is the same teams will be in the lottery the next couple of years.
