2017 NBA Draft: Instant reaction and grades from the first round
21. Oklahoma City Thunder – Terrance Ferguson, G/F, Australia
This is a pick that likely won’t pay dividends in the next two year, even if Terrance Ferguson even develops into a player. We still don’t know if his game will translate to the NBA or not. Coming out of high school, Ferguson was one of the most touted guys in the game.
However, during his time in Australia, he didn’t exactly turn heads. However, at 6-foot-7, he has all the tools to be an effective player in the NBA. He has the ability to defend, shoot the three and attack the rim.
Ferguson likely won’t see big minutes in year 1, but he’s the type of pick that will pay off in 3-4 years down the line, if the Thunder are patient.
